EYO Soccer uses United States Soccer Federation (USSF) certified referees for all games.  Anyone interested in becoming a referee should click on the link to the left.  Any referee related question should be directed to the Referee Coordinator.  All referees must get recertified each year.

Season Info
The leagues have been changed for fall 2010.  U14 and U18 have been replaced by U13, U16 and U19.
The 2010 fall season will be as follows:

	Regular Season Games	September 11th - October 31st
	EYO Cups Games & Tournaments	November 6th & 7th
	Coaches Game	November 14th

U8 and U9 are played on Saturday.  U13, U16 and U19 are played on Sunday.  U11 will use the 2-ref system.  Please see the Policy info on the left side for more details on the 2-ref system.

U8 - Saturday - 9:00, 10:15, 11:30, 12:45 PM - RB 10
U9 - Saturday - 9:00, 10:15, 11:30 AM - RB 9
U11 - Saturday - 9:00, 10:15, 11:30, 12:45 PM - RB 15
 
U13 - Sunday - 1:30, 3:00, 4:30 PM - RB 15
U16 - Sunday - non travel weekends - 1:00, 3:00 PM - RB 5
         Sunday - travel weekends - 4:00 PM - RB 5 and 4:00 PM - RB 6 ** Concurrent games
U18 - Sunday - non travel weekends - 1:00, 3:00 PM - RB 6
         Sunday - travel weekends - 1:00, 2:30 RB 5 ** Field change
 
Referees who work U13 games and work (or play in) U16/U19 games will need to travel to the other side of the park.  Game times have been staggered to make this work a little better.

Policy Review
Each season, referees are required to review the policies for each league before the season begins.  Recent changes have been made to the policies.

All contact information is pulled from the registration data in SportsPilot.  To update your email, mailing address or phone number, follow the registration link on the left side of this page, and look for the small text saying "If you have previously registered as an Umpire or a Referee, please Click Here to avoid having to re-enter the information". 

All Referees Must Submit IRS W-9 To Receive Payment
As you are aware; all referees are independent contractors with the Elkridge Youth Organization. In order to properly comply with Internal Revenue Service regulations and to provide a proper process to keep EYO records accurate for its independent contractors, we are providing you with the following required procedure for providing us with name, Social Security Number and address information.  The W9 form is located on the left side under Policies.  Please complete it and fax it to EYO Finance at 443-524-9271.  You only need to do this one time, not annually.

Assignments and Substitutions
The initial season assignments will be mailed soon to all referees.  Changes in assignments will be emailed as needed.   As the need for substitutions arise, an email will be sent to the referees listing the open positions.  Each referee can respond "Yes" if you want to referee the position or "Yes if needed" if you are willing to referee the game if no one else is available.  The positions will be filled based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, years of refereeing with EYO, years of experience, ability to referee the league level, adjoining assignments (two in a row), number of games already assigned (load leveling), and any other magic tricks I have up my sleeve.

Certification / Recertification
All referees must be certified for each year.  All referees must register prior to attending classes.  In some cases paperwork must be MAILED to the instructor PRIOR to class.  Best bet is for the referee to email the instructor and ask what is required.   The best starting point for certification is: http://www.marylandsoccerreferees.com/ -> Classes.  Carroll County
